A surfer in a wave

North Actionsports Group started in Katwijk aan Zee with watersports brands in apparel, equipment and accessories for windsurfing and kitesurfing, wakeboarding, foiling and paddleboarding, among others. The family business grew into a global player with partners in New Zealand and North America. Operations are run from the Netherlands, production happens abroad.

The challenge

As the company grew, it depended more and more on its trusted ERP system, but the possibilities of that system did not grow along.

NAG asked Solvos to build a flexible system next to the ERP that fits the way the teams work.

The approach

We use the data from the existing ERP in a portal we built in Mendix. Production, items, stock and sales come together there, clearly and filtered. New data flows back into the ERP for administration.

The solution

Dashboards support purchasing, production, quality and shipments. Every step in the chain is visible on its own and the steps work together. Teams add remarks to orders so they can adjust along the way.

Then we went further: an automated allocation workflow for production orders, which keeps shipments in view from warehouse to shop counter. And a dedicated Quality Control system that lets Development & Quality schedule sample and product checks from the dashboard.

What the system does

  • 01

    Automatic allocation

Production orders are assigned through a fixed workflow.

  • 02

    The whole chain in view

Shipments stay visible from warehouse to shop counter.

  • 03

    Quality Control

Schedule sample and product checks from the dashboard.

  • 04

    Back into the ERP

New data flows back for administration.

Result

Every department works with the same, correct information across the whole supply chain, with the ERP as the administrative basis.
